- Stages of the admission process
Stage 1: application review
Your eligibility results will be sent to you personally by e-mail on 3 April 2026 (provisional date). Eligible candidates will be invited to log on to a platform to choose the day on which they will take the entrance tests (only one date can be chosen, and cannot be changed). As the number of candidates per day is limited, certain dates will only be available to candidates who register early. Candidates must come to the school reception desk at 7.45 a.m. on the chosen date, with proof of identity.
Stage 2: Entrance tests
The preliminary exams will be held in person over the course of a single day at IMT Mines Albi between April 15 and 22, 2026. It is not possible to take the exams on any other date. Please note that you will be able to choose the specific day within this period. Since the number of candidates per day is limited, we can only guarantee a specific date for candidates who register early.
Test Format:
1. A 20-minute oral interview with the admissions committee will focus on your background, your motivation for pursuing a career in engineering and your career goals, your strengths for the work-study program, and your scientific knowledge.
2. A written test consisting of questions in French—30 minutes (vocabulary, grammar, verb conjugation, reading comprehension, summary), English—30 minutes, and mathematics—60 minutes.
In the event of force majeure, the schedule or the exams may be adjusted.
The results of the Academic Admissions Committee will be communicated individually starting on April 27, 2026. If the Academic Admissions Committee declares you academically admitted following the written and oral entrance exams, you will then need to find a host company. We recommend that you begin looking for a host company as early as April of the year preceding your enrollment in the program.
Stage 3: Finding a host company
Eligible candidates are given training in finding a host company. The company must sign the agreement to recruit a work-study student no later than September 20, 2026.
• Admission to the work-study track will be granted to the first candidates admitted following the written and oral entrance tests, who have found a host company, subject to obtaining the required degree, and subject to the number of places available.
• In lifelong learning, once academic admission has been granted, the process of finding and finalizing financing for the program will be carried out in partnership with the host company’s human resources department.
Documents to be completed by the company and candidates to finalize the recruitment process
We strongly recommend that candidates actively look for a host company even before their academic admission is confirmed. Finding a host company for an apprenticeship contract is like looking for a job. This is the final criterion for selection of candidates. Many companies, of all sizes and in all sectors, are looking for engineers with sound scientific, technical and managerial skills. Take advantage of this opportunity!
