EGCERSIS WINS THE LAVAL VIRTUAL AWARDS!

At the 24th prestigious Laval Virtual Awards ceremony, Europe's leading virtual, augmented reality and immersive technologies exhibition, the EGCERSIS joint laboratory project was awarded the Laval Virtual Award, "Industry" category..

EGCERSIS has been recognized as the best solution 2021/2022 helping to improve productivity, training or maintenance in the industry.

Among the 3 projects selected in its category, the Laval Virtual Awards jury singled out the joint research laboratory EGCERSIS as a major player in the creation of XR solutions around the world with its remarkable virtual and augmented reality project aimed at contributing to better crisis management.

On April 13, Frédérick Benaben, Professor at the Industrial Engineering Center of IMT Mines Albi and Director of the joint research laboratory EGCERSIS, accompanied by Aurélie Congès, PhD student, and Robin Batard, Post-Doctoral student at the Industrial Engineering Center of IMT Mines Albi , had the great honor of receiving the award live from the Laval Virtual Awards.

The objective of this joint laboratory is to provide to security managers a framework dedicated to the preparation and training for crisis management on critical sites. The idea is to combine virtual reality and decision support in an uncertain environment. It is a distinction that IMT Mines Albi is proud to share with Immersive Factory, Report One and the Occitanie region.


The joint research laboratory EGCERSIS, a solution for crisis management

The EGCERSIS joint laboratory (Training in Crisis Management in Environment Representative of Sensitive Industrial Sites) brings together the Industrial Engineering Center of IMT Mines Albi, the companies Immersive Factory, Report One (which, together with the Occitanie region. finance this work) around the theme of virtual reality for security.

It was in November 2019 that the Industrial Engineering Center of IMT Mines Albi created the joint international laboratory SIReN, with Georgia Tech ISyE (Industrial and System Engineering), a leading American institution in the field of artificial intelligence and industrial engineering. EGCERSIS (Training in Crisis Management in Environment Representative of Sensitive Industrial Sites), which resulted in the creation of the virtual training environment for crisis management, is the first program that the partners have carried out jointly. The Immersive Factory and Report One companies are also associated with the EGCERSIS program, which receives funding from the Occitanie region under the theme of virtual reality for security.
