Stanford-Elsevier ranking: international recognition

The ranking established by Stanford University is one of the most recognized worldwide for assessing the influence of researchers in various scientific fields. This ranking, also known as “Stanford/Elsevier's Top 2% Scientists,” is based on bibliometric data from the Scopus database. It takes into account researchers' citations, their h-index (an index measuring a researcher's impact), as well as other parameters such as the number of publications and co-authored works.

This ranking distinguishes approximately 210,000 scientists out of more than 8 million active scientists worldwide. Researchers are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields.

Seven IMT Mines Albi faculty members are ranked in Stanford University's 2025 list of the world's most important scientists: Ange Nzihou, Jean-José Orteu, Doan Pham Minh, Maria-Inês Ré, Sylvain Salvador, Jacques Fages (retired), and John Dodds (retired).

Scientific excellence: IMT Mines Albi once again honored in the Stanford-Elsevier global rankings

IMT Mines Albi is proud to announce that several of its researchers have been ranked among the world's most influential scientists in the Stanford-Elsevier Top 2% Scientists 2025 ranking. This internationally recognized ranking assesses both long-term impact (career) and recent research performance using standardized bibliometric indicators (citations, h-index, co-author adjustments, etc.).

Last year, seven faculty members from IMT Mines Albi were recognized in the 2024 list, divided between the RAPSODEE UMR CNRS 5302 center and the Institut Clément Ader UMR CNRS 5312. These nominations are a testament to the excellence of our research teams, particularly in the fields of energy, materials, and processes.

This global recognition enhances the visibility and scientific influence of IMT Mines Albi and highlights the quality of the work carried out by our laboratories. Congratulations to all the researchers involved, as well as to all the support and promotion teams who contribute to this dynamic.
