Winner of the Eiffel 2025 Excellence Grant

A Colombian national, Manuela Cardona Ocampo is an industrial engineering student at the Universidad Tecnologica de Pereira (Colombia). Curious, Manuela loves to travel, discover new cultures and learn constantly. She's always ready to take on new challenges. Manuela will join the general engineering program at IMT Mines Albi in September 2025.

¿Puedes presentarte? 
Me llamo Manuela, tengo 21 años y soy estudiante de ingeniería industrial. Me encanta viajar, descubrir nuevas culturas y aprender constantemente. Soy una persona curiosa y empática, siempre dispuesta a afrontar nuevos desafíos.

¿Qué representa para ti la obtención de la beca de excelencia Eiffel? 
Obtener esta beca representa un verdadero reconocimiento a mi trayectoria y una motivación adicional para seguir superándome. Me abre las puertas a una formación de excelencia en Francia y me acerca a mis metas profesionales a nivel internacional.

¿Cómo fuiste acompañada en el proceso de postulación a la beca? 
Conté con el acompañamiento del departamento de asuntos internacionales de IMT Mines Albi. Me apoyó durante todo el proceso de postulación, respondió todas mis dudas y me ayudó a completar los documentos necesarios.

¿Por qué elegiste IMT Mines Albi?
 Elegí IMT Mines Albi por la calidad de su formación, su enfoque pedagógico innovador y sus sólidos vínculos con la industria. Su compromiso con el desarrollo sostenible y la investigación aplicada está en línea con mis intereses. Estoy convencida de que es el entorno ideal para fortalecer mis competencias y alcanzar mis objetivos profesionales.

¿Qué esperas de estos dos años de estudios en Francia? 
Espero adquirir nuevos conocimientos, desarrollar mis habilidades técnicas y humanas, y sumergirme en una cultura diferente. También deseo establecer vínculos sólidos con otros estudiantes y profesionales, participar en proyectos concretos y crecer tanto a nivel personal como profesional.

¿Cuáles son tus proyectos para el futuro?
 En el futuro, quiero trabajar en proyectos innovadores con un fuerte impacto social, especialmente en áreas como la mejora de procesos industriales, el marketing, la optimización y la gestión. Mi objetivo es aportar en una empresa internacional y, a largo plazo, crear mi propio proyecto emprendedor, inspirado en la experiencia que viviré en Francia.

What does the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship mean to you?

This scholarship represents not only recognition of my achievements, but also additional motivation to continue to surpass myself. It opens the door to excellent training in France and to the realization of my professional ambitions abroad.

How did you come to apply for this scholarship?

I was supported by the International Affairs Department at IMT Mines Albi. The whole team helped me throughout the application process, answering all my questions. This helped me to fill in all the necessary documents and information.

What do you expect from your two years of study in France?

I want to acquire new knowledge, develop my technical and human skills, and immerse myself in a different culture. I also hope to establish strong links with other students and professionals, participate in concrete projects and grow both personally and professionally.

What are your plans for the future?

In the future, I'd like to work on innovative projects with a strong social impact, especially in the fields of industrial process improvement, marketing, optimization and management. My aim is to contribute to an international company and, in the long term, to create my own entrepreneurial project, inspired by my experience in France.
