01 August 2022

The traditional summer school is back on IMT Mines Albi campus after 2 years of interruption due to the pandemics.

The French Summer School is an intensive one-month training course organized by IMT Mines Albi since 2014. It allows international students to benefit from support and intensive immersion for their arrival in France.

This program includes, beyond FLE courses (French as a Foreign Language), numerous industrial and cultural visits to Albi and the region.
A total of 33 students of Colombian, Chinese, Mexican, Chilean and Spanish, Equatoguinean nationality will participate in this edition.
In this context, in relation to the support that IMT Mines Albi wishes to show to the Ukrainian people and in collaboration with the ARALIA association, IMT Mines Albi will welcome a group of 18 Ukrainian students.

The 80-hour training program is structured around three major axes:

  • French as a foreign language (FLE) courses as well as French courses specific to the field of engineering are provided. The former will allow students to familiarize themselves with the use of the language on a daily basis, while the latter will strengthen their ability to express themselves with technical vocabulary.
  • Intercultural communication workshops will give them the necessary keys to juggle cultural differences and to better understand the subtleties of French culture.
  • Excursions to the emblematic industrial and tourist sites of the Occitanie region will also be organized each week.

Once the French Summer School is over, students will finally be ready to join the courses offered by different schools in the IMT group!

" The French Summer School was essential for getting used to the language, getting to know the cultural and gastronomic richness of the country. It is a unique and enriching experience. "
